US stocks ended lower amidst new Auto sector tariff announcements, Dow dropped 0.31%, S&P lost 1.12% and Nasdaq gave back 2.04% as worries over the next salvo of tariffs on 2nd April kept the markets nervous.
USD index moved higher at 104.67, 10 year too moved up at 4.35% and cboe vix jumped 6% at 18.33.
Crude futures settled 1.00% higher on US stocks data and supply worries from Venezuela. WTI traded near 70, Brent above 73.75.
Indian markets ended 7 days run on some profit taking and Trumps new tariff plan on Autos. Sensex dropped 729 points and Nifty closed 182 points lower as most sectors closed lower.
March series expiry related blues, weak lead from Wall Street and some apprehensions on April 2nd tariff deadline may dominate trade set up on Dalal Street. Participants may watch out for intraday volatility in individual names due to March series expiry and avoid taking fresh positions till US moves on tariffs get over on 2nd April.
