Opening a franchise of one’s own is in a small manner is a beginners step towards Entrepreneurship of a larger order. In today’s scenario opening a share broking franchise is a dream that many individuals have missioned and successfully achieved with the support of their respective franchise partners. The financial industry offers various platforms for franchise partnership. In India most of the leading broking firms have dedicated departments that look into business development for the Franchise Opening.
Answering the title in a more objective manner as what should a person look at within himself to make sure that he is fit to operate a share broking franchise, I would like to assert that he should first be a shrewd business student or an accomplished trader in the stock markets. Secondly he should be ready to be player of the long run, as profits need not start trickling in the first 6 months of setting up of business. Thirdly and most importantly he should be patient and very well understand that the stock market is a very volatile place to trade in and highs and lows are pretty normal.
Fourthly I believe that there should be an undying passion to excel in this area of business, since he would probably be having associates or a team of investors who too would invest in the stock market. Like all start up business opening a franchise requires some serious investment of capital and the owner needs to have the right metal to make sure that he has adequate resources to keep the show running especially when markets are low and operating profit margins are wafer thin.
Last 3-4 years there has been significant turmoil in the markets and many individuals who had shown the initial zeal towards successful entrepreneurship had to wind down after a few years. But as it said Ships look good while being in the harbor, but they are meant to be doing battle at sea. And same lies with the share broking franchises as well, those who have stood their ground during the testing times today have grown tremendously and earning rich dividends out of their earlier investment.
